1. Create a new playlist, or, to edit an existing playlist, select the 'Playlists' tab and select a Playlist Name (don't tick the box).

2. Under 'Playlist Media Items', select 'Actions' and 'Add Text'.

3. Type one line of text.

4. Select 'Preview' to see exactly how the text item will appear on the sign. If your first line of text is too long, you'll notice in the Preview that one word at the end of the first line of text may be split between the first and second lines of text. To fix this, read on:

5. Select 'Cancel' in the preview.

6. Move the cursor just before the word that is being split in the Preview, and press Enter. This will move the whole word down to the second line of text.

7. Now, based on the length of the first line of text, make all other lines of text the same length as the first line, or shorter. This will prevent words from splitting across lines.

8. To left/right/centre-justify lines of text or the entire paragraph, highlight (select) text and press the desired Justify button on the toolbar.

9. Highlight (select) text and choose fonts, style, size.

10. Choose Enter Effect, Enter Speed and Play Time. If you tick the 'Single Line Text' box, leave your text in a single line at the top of the editor.

11. For full colour signs, you can choose text colour and background colour.

12. Select OK to save the text item.

NOTE: If you copy and paste text into this text editor directly from Microsoft Word documents, PDFs, or emails, a small toolbar will appear, asking you if you want to paste as Text Only, or to keep original formatting. We recommend you always paste Text Only, as the text editor can't interpret some formatting that comes from these source documents, causing errors.

TIP: If your text item has more lines of text than will fit all at once on the Sign, your text item will show as separate 'pages' which display in sequence on the sign, each page appearing for the specified 'Play Time'. You can see this happening in the playlist Preview. To overcome this, you can apply the ‘Fly from Bottom’ Enter Effect, which will scroll the text vertically from the bottom to top of the sign, like movie credits.
