Wyndham Central College, Werribee

  • Our school recently went through a large-scale facilities upgrade to implement our master plan. As part of the works, we were looking for reliable signage to complement our new, positive image and updated facilities. Then we received Danthonia’s brochure and found what we were looking for. Danthonia came on site to recommend locations and sign types, put together helpful design proofs, and produced quality signs that were delivered on time with informative guides on their setup and care.

The new signs are making a strong impact on the College profile in the community. In fact, we receive constant compliments on our new signs and the impression they leave on visitors and parents.

We found the Danthonia Designs staff to be friendly, professional, knowledgeable and ever willing to assist with our needs. Wyndham Central College is completely satisfied with their work, and does not hesitate to recommend Danthonia Designs.

In 2011, the Galvin Park Secondary College facilities had become so run-down that they were unsafe for students. The school, which serves hundreds of students in the Werribee area, badly needed a boost. The state government stepped in to fund a total rebadging and rebuilding of the school over the course of several state budgets. In 2013, the school was renamed Wyndham Central College, a new logo and uniform were developed and construction began on a wide range of capital works. A new administration building took shape, the science building was refashioned as a trade training centre, and specialised Year 7, Year 8 & 9 and senior learning areas were refurbished.

Part of the re-identifying process for the school, of course, was signage. Danthonia was invited to the school to identify key signs to be replaced or added as part of the rebranding and landscaping of the campus. Two monument signs brand key entries to the school, and a double-sided pylon sign identifies the school to traffic on Shaws Road. Pylon signs identify administration and the trade training centre, and a directional street pole sign directs visitors to main destinations. We even provided a hand-carved crest for the college’s lecterns.
