North Sydney's Union Hotel is a classic example of the city's Art Deco architecture. The new owners wanted signage that would fit the jazz-era atmosphere of the establishment. Sydney-based design firm Pretty Pollution created a fresh and eye-catching corporate identity that emphasised the pub's vintage feel. For signage, Pretty Pollution worked with us to dimensionalise the logo and create a sign strategy that was both beautiful and functional. Recently, the project was featured on their website:
'Pretty Pollution worked alongside Danthonia Designs to create the indoor and outdoor signage for The Union Hotel. The signs were initially hand carved and then a mould was created to replicate the detail in all the signs. Pretty Pollution also designed the font used for the main wording on each sign. '

The ornaments were first hand-sculpted then molded and attached to the sign panels.
