Classic Quarterboard History

Nineteenth-century sailing ships displayed their names on decoratively carved and painted wood signs called quarterboards. When a ship's captain retired and went ashore he would acquire the quarterboard and place it on his house for all to admire.

International Sign Contest 2010

The Results are in for this year's International Sign Contest by Signs of the TimesMagazine. Two Danthonia signs were awarded prizes this year, while another two received Honourable Mention.

This sign, for a Dutch-themed holiday park in Coffs Harbour, also won first place in the Hand Carved Signs category of the USSC Sign Awards last year.
