Roma Mitchell Secondary College signage

Danthonia Designs was commissioned to create this high-wall branding sign and LED message sign for Roma Mitchell Secondary College, a large school in Adelaide’s north.

The College has a unique configuration of three campuses on one large site – Co-Education, Girls’ Campus and Special Education. The Girls Campus provides an opportunity for girls to undertake their secondary education in a girls-only setting, if preferred. Since its formation in 2011, this school has established a good reputation for its academic success as well as the support it gives to students.

When we were approached to design the signage, the school’s large, coloured walls facing Brien’s Road were unbranded, and the only signage was insignificant. Some passers-by didn’t even realise the site was a school. Now, the central blue wall has been transformed with signage that clearly identifies the college and is legible from almost 250 metres away.

The LED school message board sign is located at an entrance point where many parents and students will read it each day. The messages are displayed in full-colour and can even include images. Content is scheduled and sent to the sign via Danthonia’s web-based software over the 4G network, making it easy and maintenance-free.
