Prince Alfred College LED sign

  • As Director of Advancement at Prince Alfred College, one of my key roles is enabling effective communication throughout the College community. After investigating a number of supply options, we recently asked Danthonia to install a new billboard style sign with a P6 full-colour LED screen at the main entrance to College, to help keep our stakeholders informed with current/upcoming events, key achievements and important notices. We could not be happier with the resulting display. The product is visually very effective, with the screen surprisingly easy to update on any internet-able device. We found all of Danthonia’s staff knowledgeable, personable and very accommodating throughout the process. I would have no hesitation in recommending Danthonia to any organisation looking for a similar solution to enhance their communication strategy.

Prince Alfred College, one of Australia’s premier boys’ schools, was founded in honour of Prince Alfred’s visit to Adelaide in the 1860’s, and has been educating young men ever since. The College campus is in historic Kent Town near the city centre. Prince’s sports and academic achievements are held in the highest esteem, and it boasts a long list of influential old boys.

The College approached us to install signage and an LED message board on the Parade West approach to the grounds. This was to aid parents and students in keeping up with important events and news.

The 1.9 by 1.2 metre LED screen is a P6 resolution SMD display, giving crisp and professional images and colour, and can be controlled from web-based software by marketing staff.

The billboard is formed from fabricated aluminium and spans 5.6 metres. The College crest and name were hand-sculpted and painted and give an air of permanence and pride.
