Rio Tinto Yarwun Alumina Refinery LED safety sign

Rio Tinto’s Yarwun Alumina Refinery is located just outside of Gladstone and was the first greenfield refinery to be built in the Western world in 20 years. The refinery outputs 3.4 million tonnes of alumina per year.

This electronic safety sign sits at the entrance to the refinery where it is viewed by employees entering the site each day. The sign includes two independently controlled high-resolution LED displays to communicate different messages.

The larger screen displays the day’s safety messages, while the smaller screen above it displays points accumulated in their “safe, healthy, green” campaign. The board helps keep employees engaged and focused on their own and others health and wellbeing.
