Drummoyne Swimming Centre LED sign

Drummoyne Swimming Centre in the city of Canada Bay, Sydney, is a bustling community centre with loads of things to do. A learn to swim school, swim shop, kiosk and special family events are just some of the activities on offer. The centre is one of Belgravia Leisure’s facilities and is also supported by Canada Bay Council.

Drummoyne Swimming Centre’s saltwater pool has an excellent position overlooking the cove on Sydney Harbour, which also means moist marine conditions. However, their choice of a Danthonia Designs LED sign means they can avoid most of the issues usually associated with having electronics in a coastal location. The posts and hardware of the sign structure are fabricated of rust-proof aluminium. The power supplies in the LED display have a waterproof conformal coating, and the LED tiles are rated IP67, meaning they are watertight event when submerged. The “no-fans” thermal management system means the sign stays cool and ventilated without large fans pulling moist salty air through the display, which can be detrimental.

This electronic sign will advertise events, rates and news to regular swimmers at the Centre and prospective new users.
