Halls Creek District High School totems

Inspired by ‘didgeridoo totems’ created for other schools, Halls Creek District High School set a challenge for Danthonia. They asked us to create 3D sculptures of lizards clinging to branches, incorporate their school values, and ship them more than 6,000 kilometres to one of the most remote towns in Australia.

The result was six totems that flank the entryway to Administration. The lizard artwork is from the school’s logo, translated into 3D and hand-painted. The lightweight EPS, steel and urethane construction kept them cost-effective to make and ship, and able to withstand impact from vandals.

A concrete-free installation kit was provided with the totems and made the installation easy and hassle-free.
