Parkview Aged Care Sign

This tasteful sign features a sculpture of a pincushion hakea, or Hakea laurina. Mainly found in Australia’s south-west, this plant’s unusual blossoms make it a favourite for landscaping, and it has been used in the USA and Italy for decorative purposes.

Looking at the hakea’s flowers, it’s easy to see how it received its nick-name. Tiny white pins protrude from a globular red or pink centre. Such detail seems impossible to replicate when you’re standing over a block of High Density Urethane, our sign making material, with chisel and gouges in hand, but Danthonia’s artisans did a great job on this attractive entry statement.
